What do you think.
When we go back to watching football do you think opening the ground at 12-30 for a 3 ko, and 5-30 for a night match might help eg older fans would go in early when not many fans about and ground stays open by one hour to allow a more slower exit rush.

With the vacuum of space between stands and pitch at least the players will be safe!!

I’m a director of a global finance firm and one of the largest in the uk. Having never had any large scale working from home operation, we’re now planning on basis that over 80% of staff are working from home for at least the next 12 months. Hate to say this but there will be no return to large scale spectator sports until a) there is a vaccine or b) something else happens to reduce infection rates of the virus and severity with the elderly. I would currently bet a large amount of money that we won’t see spectators back inside football grounds this year.

Re: What do you think.
I cannot see how they can do big crowds until the virus is just about eradicated with a vaccine or whatever.
I can even see if they tried, a lot of people would not go.
Here where I live they can open the bars and restaurants again at 30% capacity and people only outside on terraces or whatever. Most places have not bothered to open, fear of virus and not worth it for 30%. The one that are open are not getting 30% capacity for much of the day if at all.

Nah. Fans either are told to stay away, or it goes back to what it was. No middle of the road 'new normal' shit.

Re: What do you think.
Can't all those who are vulnerable have a big red "V" tattooed across their forehead, and all those tested positive have a big pink "P" similarly positioned.

Soppy shielded cunts can have a big black "S"...better make it "S.S." tattoo to ensure the message gets across.

Man. Obviously Right, Obviously Normal could be the default forehead tattoo. That or a phone.National Insurance number inscribed on the arm somewhere.

At least then we'd all know where to congregate and who to shun, innit.

I don't think social distancing would be that much of a problem in a sixty thousand stadium playing in the championship with the shit team we have.

I could probably have a whole terrace to myself!

Re: What do you think.
Not sure older people will want to stand around in the ground more than they do now.
To be honest sports events, concerts, theatre etc are going to be the last things to have crowds ..... most likely if a vaccine is found or at best if the deaths and infections get to a minuscule level.

As said I think it’s entirely possible 2020/21 will be behind closed doors and Euro 2020 at best restricted to fans from the home city if any at all.

Re: What do you think.
I hope something can be worked out so the majority who want to attend can do as safely as possible.

Social distancing is all very well in theory but but in certain environments just not sustainable, we can all queue in line to get in the stadium get through security etc but people are still gonna get carried away in the moment at times and want to hug there mates or jump up and vent there spleen. You are also still gonna get people coming in late or going for a piss etc who have to clamber over others in that row.
Most people will then still have to get on the tube or train home.

At the end of the day there will be a risk factor for the foreseeable future but should be up to the individual if they wish to take that risk as with a lot of things going forward.

The risk of contracting and passing on to others should also be a big consideration of course.

People can be 5 metres apart in that stadium next season no matter what happens.

Re: What do you think.
I certainly think there will be changes when punters are allowed back into grounds. In our case, it will probably be for the worse, due to the logistics of the place. The stop/go mob will still be there, that’s for sure.

Re: What do you think.
The people that hate it, hate it as a place to watch football not as somewhere to have a beer and something to eat.

"the vast majority hate the place"

Really it's "Loads preferred the Boleyn"

Tomorrow would have been the last game of the season. I'd love to have been there.

Just thought that if any of my favourite pubs are struggling financially after the lockdown I'd rather make the effort to go and spend a few bob to help them out. The Pride or the Grapes for instance.

Re: What do you think.
AKA ERNIE i think all the money on beer popcorn and hotdogs etc goes to the stadium owners, catering is run by American company Delaware North so wouldn't be putting money in GSB's coffers
